It is hard to draw on the train.

It's shakey!

I just stepped off the train at Columbus Circle and suddenly I had a huge desire to see green grass and trees. I think I'm ready for spring.

I knew there was a reason I never finished Half-life. Gordan Freeman is apparently a one armed robot on roller skates made of butter. The movement always feels so god damn artificial that it makes me nauseous. There's absolutely no head bob and unlike people, Gordon maintains momentum while they're walking so when he stops walking, he slides for a foot or two.

I'm probably making too much of it but it feels horrible. It feels too much like the environment is sliding past me instead of me moving through an environment.

Something you may not know about me: I love to write little programs that do relatively meaningless things.

They're almost always on the web in php because that's the language I use most often. One of the things I recently wrote was an app to compile all my screenshots from Halo 3. Bungie holds on to the most recent 30 but I'm a packrat. I want to keep them all so I made this thing to save it on my webspace.

Prior to that, I wrote an app to post photos from my sidekick to my photoblog and even to make posts to my blog which is what I'm using right now.

Last night, I updated a to do list program I wrote a few years back. There's probably a lot more I could add to it but it's serving its purpose right now which is an online shopping list that Jessie and I can access.

I got about halfway through writing a program to keep track of achievements that I want to get. I'd written a little css page that was all hand coded to keep track of some Halo 3 achievements but the page was static and a pain to edit so I started writing this more generic version that would let me add new games and add/remove achievements at will.

After that Daft Punk show we went to I told Jessie that I don't dance to music at all ever... but I could probably write a program that would do it. Bronson said this made me a bit too much like Roast Beef.

[You may have noticed that these posts seem to be getting longer. I started writing the post as soon as I got in the subway. I'm much more able to finish my thought when I don't have the pressure of finishing in time before I'm off the bridge and half the time I didn't even get enough signal to load the page to post this. I hope you can forgive me.]

A bunch of my friends got together on XBox Live to play a bunch of Halo 2. It was weird at first because I was already used to the Halo 3 controls which are superior. As soon as I got over that though, it was on!

It's a little weird because today might have been the last time I ever played Halo 2. Halo 3 does everything its predecessor does but better and the entire time we were playing, I just kept wishing I'd be able to go back and watch the saved games.

That one feature is going to ruin all other video games for me because I will forever expect to be able to play back my entire gaming session for every game I ever play. For a packrat like me, a feature like that is just the most delicious thing in the world. I fear the day that I run out of room on my hard drive for all the saved films. Hopefully by then, the price on 120gb drives will be significantly lower.

for those of you wondering, I won every match we played except for one round of oddball. I got a killtacular that round so I'm not too upset

There was a time when I would listen to this album on repeat over and over again. At the very end you can hear the sound of someone getting up from a chair after finishing the recording.

I'd listen to the album so much that eventually it felt like it was the sound of the musician sitting down to begin recording.

When I got out of work I saw a bunch of people standing around looking at a few cars. I noticed that one of them was a Brinks armored car. That's kind of nromal but out of the ordinary enough to attract attention.

Thre second car was a NYC Department of Transportation. Again, somewhat unusual but nothing crazy weird.

The last car pulled it all together. It was a streetsweeping car that was halfway blocking a street so the DOT car was there to make sure the sweeper had access to the street to clean it and the armored car was in the way so it was getting a ticket.

Jessie was staring at my chest while we were waiting for the train. She was fixating on my manboobs and nipples.

"I'm up here," I reminded her.

My kitty Tyler just lost his second baby tooth. Jessie and I were playing with him just before we left for dinner and it came off on my finger.

I'm glad it came off while I was there so it wouldn't be lost in the apartment somewhere.

The muscle on the left side of my jaw really hurts. I also had pizza for breakfast.

I don't think the two are related.

I have to rush home and make dinner. Jessie and I are going to see They Might Be Giants tonight so I have to get home and eat in time for us to leave and make the show.

I stopped by an asian market by work to get some ingredients, one of which is gochujang, a korean spicy chili paste that makes food bright red and fiery hot. Itls beena while since I bought any so I'm nervous about whether I got the right stuff.

(I gotta learn how to type faster on this thing. I had to post this when I got above ground a few stops down the line.)

I've been apretty loyal tmobile customer for a few years now except for a brief stint where I couldn't get a signal in my apartment. I came back to them after a year with a prepaid account and now I made the jump to a sidekick with a data plan (internet phone!!!) but now there are issues with switching the number to my new account and for the first time I am upset with tmobile's customer service.

So here's the deal. I just got a tmobile sidekick and there's an interesting phenomenon that happens on my commute to and from work. There's a part of the train line where it goes over a bridge so for a span of about two minutes, there is a brief moment of cell service so everyone whips out their mobile phones and gets in a brief call or text message. Now, with my sidekick I think I will join in and try to make a post every time I cross the bridge. We'll see what happens.
